UI/UX : Language App

Personal experience in learning Japanese language and traveling to Japan had me realised the need for an app with more functions and flexibility.

This project is part of UI/UX Accelerated Program with LASALLE : College of the Arts.

Design Process :
User Research - Affinity Mapping - Persona - Competitive Analysis - User Flow - Ideation - Prototyping - Sketching - Wire framing - Usability Testing - Iterations

Tools Used : Sketch, InVision, Illustrator and Photoshop.

Situation : Interviewees find that using various language apps for different purposes, a hassle. A common example is having to google for the word meaning and usage, instead of searching for it on the same language app.

Solution : Design a unique language app which will stand out from the other apps, with more functionality and flexibility in learning, such as the word search function which enables users to search, by typing or speaking.

Due to the time constraint of the short course, the process flow is focused on the user searching for the word "chotto".

You may try the prototype here and search for the Japanese word "Chotto" or view the clip of the process flow here.
