UI/UX : Language App
Overview
This language learning app was designed as a case study for LASALLE College of the Arts UI/UX Accelerated Program.
Inspired by my personal experience learning Japanese, I explored how language learning tools can be made more flexible, efficient, and user-friendly.
Problem
Through user interviews, I found that learners often rely on multiple apps and external sources to understand word meanings, usage, and context. This creates a fragmented and inefficient learning experience.
Solution
I designed a language learning app that combines multiple learning functions into a single platform.
Key feature includes:
-
A unified search function that allows users to search words via typing or voice input
-
A more flexible learning experience without switching between multiple tools

Due to the short course timeline, the prototype focuses on the core user flow: searching for the word “chotto” and viewing its meaning and usage.
