UI/UX : Cafe Web

Case Study

Design a website for a train themed cafe, Shinjuku Kissa Tetsudo in Singapore.

Tools Used

Illustrator, Photoshop &  InVision.

Overview

The objective is to design a website for a unique Japanese Railway Themed Cafe by highlighting its key selling points which separate it from the other cafe in Singapore.

  • Japanese specialty coffee and pastries

  • Realistic train diorama users can play

  • Tatami corner

  • Omotenashi hospitality

The cafe does not have a website so the goal is to create a well-organised and user-friendly website, providing information on the products and services offered, updates and support.

Conclusion

Designing an original website from scratch is as challenging as redesigning an existing website as there is nothing to based or improve on, which is good and bad.

The good thing is I am free to create my own style as long as it aligns with the company's idea of brand identity, image and preferences.

The bad thing is I have to come out with an original idea of the type of visual design and system architecture the website needs.

You may the prototype here on InVision and search for "Sakura Coffee" or view the clip of the process flow here.
